Douglas C. Sperr
Founder, President and CEO
Doug Sperr's career spans more than 25 years of executive leadership and technology innovation. As the Founder, President and CEO of USGN, Mr. Sperr has headed the overall leadership and management of the online software solutions company since it opened its doors in 1998. Sperr is responsible for the Company's overall business strategy, product vision and customer relationships.. Under Sperr's leadership, USGN has experienced unprecedented growth and has become the leader in web-based application development platforms, combining best of class collaborative project management solutions.
An architect by training, Mr. Sperr applied more than two decades of design and planning experience to develop USGN's core project management software. Designed out of necessity by Mr. Sperr for his Phoenix-based architecture firm, Sperr & Associates/ Architecture, Inc., Sperr quickly understood the power of the Internet to dramatically improve the way companies manage projects and the potential his software had to benefit the multi-unit construction industry. Sperr soon founded USGN to commercialize the venture and his unique vision led the USGN development team to create a product that is both highly collaborative and adaptable to users' processes and applications without the need for IT or programmers.
The company now boasts dozens of loyal blue-chip and Fortune 500 customers with over 11,000 users and 8,000 projects in the USGN online community of application development and project management. Sperr holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Arizona State University, is a registered architect in more then 20 states across the U.S. and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Sperr and his family live in La Jolla, CA. He also an accomplished sailplane and aerobatic pilot. |
Scott Wessels, CTO
Mr. Wessels has been with USGN since 1999, and has led the technology department since his arrival. His exceptional ability to understand and advance a vast landscape of technologies has ensured USGN’s position as a technology leader in their industry. Mr. Wessels has had held diverse senior level positions in technology, most recently with Intel. With his extensive knowledge of software architecture, development, software lifecycle management and computer languages he has become the industry leader in the field of OPM software. |
Mary K. Gibson, Director of Finance
Ms. Gibson has over 18 years experience in accounting and 15 years of financial management. She has been with USGN from its inception in 1998. Prior to this time, Gibson was accountant for Sperr & Associates and also managed the accounting department for a staffing service for 13 years, which included over $5M in billing and a payroll of over 5,000 temporary employees a year. |
Michael R. Leathers, Technical & Design Director
Mr. Leathers has been with USGN since he graduated from The University of Advancing Computer Technology over five years ago. He was instrumental in evolving basic web design technologies into a dynamic online tool for online project management. In his role as USGN Technical Director, he is an integral part of the implementation process for each of our customers. He has earned the trust and respect of USGN's most demanding users. |
Betty Maisel, VP of Client and Implementation
Services
Betty Maisel joined USGN in September as the VP of Client and Implementation
Services. Betty has more than 20 years of executive and management experience in
the information technology industry. She has a record of leading teams to
successfully define and implement strategic and business solutions. Betty's
management experience includes leading internal IT Departments and managing a
large Professional Services organization. She has extensive experience in working
through all phases of the client engagement life cycle and has been successful at
ensuring effective and complete solution implementation for both large and small
technology projects. Betty has experience in the restaurant, distribution, and
education sectors.

Justin Wilkins, Technical & Support
Justin Wilkins joined USGN in November of 2007 as a Support Technician/Implementation Specialist. He brings a mix of computer management knowledge and customer service experience to the company. Currently Justin works with clients to resolve bugs, track feature requests, create processes within the OPM software, as well as hosting training sessions.

Andrew Kolikoff, Sales
Mr. Kolikoff’s diverse and extensive background combines his talents and interests
in business, product and business development, government, academia, not-forprofit
and the environment. His knowledge in these arenas is creatively applied in
his business ventures and volunteer activities.
After serving fifteen years as an environmental scientist, educator and not-for-profit
creator, Mr. Kolikoff went on to establish a business of his own in early 2003 –
Kolikoff & Company, Inc www.kolikoff.com. Its mission, to provide professional
service companies like architecture and engineering firms, contractors, real estate
developers etc. outsourced marketing, business development and project
management services. Parlaying the relationships that Andrew created through his
years in consulting, not-for-profit, academic, and government circles, Kolikoff &
Company quickly established itself as one of the country’s premiere real
estate/corporate retail consulting firms.

Board Members
Tom Blondi, Board of Directors
Mr. Blondi is currently CEO and president of Ethix Media and has more than 25 years of executive and management experience in the information technology industry. His extensive experience includes early-stage technology companies, with positions as CEO for Involve Technology, Hard Dollar Corporation, and Language Management, Inc. (LMI), marketing positions with Cyclone Commerce, Inc. and Peerless Systems Corporation, and as President and Managing Director of CRWTH Computer Courseware. Mr. Blondi has lectured all over the world on a variety of industry and management issues and is a co-author of a strategic and management guide, "The Information Technology Challenge—Surviving." He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, and holds a degree in mathematics and physics. |
Ray Loen, Board of Directors
Ray Loen is president of R. O. Loen Company. He has over 30 years of management consulting experience plus line and staff management experience with two national firms, UARCO, Inc. and Fibreboard Corporation. His consulting services include integrated business planning, venture financing, organizational development, and board structuring and management. In addition to his service on USGN's board, he serves on the board of Swift Energy Company (NYSE) as director emeritus and on the board of Validity Sensors, Inc. He is former chairman of the board of United Medical Laboratories, a 1500-employee clinical laboratory. He has graduate and undergraduate degrees from Columbia University School of Business. He is author of three books, including Manage More By Doing Less (McGraw-Hill) and of articles in various publications, including the Harvard Business Review. |
